The base frequency of the 16-core and 32-thread Ryzen 9 9950X3D is 4.3 GHz, and the maximum is declared at 5.7 GHz (for one core). The total volume of L2, L3 and 3D V-Cache is 144 MB. The nominal TDP of the chip is 170 W.

The base frequency of the 12-core and 24-thread Ryzen 9 9900X3D is 4.4 GHz, and the maximum is 5.5 GHz (for one core). In total, the processor offers 140 MB of cache memory. The nominal power consumption is declared at 120 W. Both chips are equipped with integrated Radeon graphics based on two execution units operating at a frequency of 2.2 GHz. For effective cooling of both processors, AMD recommends using a liquid cooling system.

The senior 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X3D has already been in the hands of reviewers. They praised the chip, noting that the processor provides a very high level of not only gaming, but also productive performance. In various workloads, such as 3D rendering, video editing and other creative applications, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D is faster than any desktop processor. It is ahead of the current Intel flagship – Core Ultra 9 285K – by about 6-7%, and its predecessor, the Core i9-14900K, by 12-13%. Compared to its predecessor, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, the new Ryzen 9 9950X3D is faster by an average of 11-12%, and its advantage over the Ryzen 9 9950X reaches 4-5%. In games, the new chip is second only to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D – the difference is about 2-5% in favor of the younger model.

Reviewers agree that if the PC is designed solely for gaming, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D remains the better option due to its lower power consumption. However, if high performance in work applications is also important, the new Ryzen 9 9950X3D looks preferable thanks to its 16 Zen 5 cores.
