The global processor market grew for the second quarter in a row, according to the latest report from analytical agency Jon Peddie Research. In the fourth quarter of 2024, client chip shipments grew 5% year-on-year, while server processor shipments grew 6% compared to the reporting period a year earlier.

Overall processor market growth in the fourth quarter of last year was 7.8% sequentially and 4.8% compared to the same period a year earlier. Server processor shipments grew by 6% in the past quarter and by 5.5% year-on-year. AMD’s processor market share fell to 25.2%.
In the fourth quarter, total iGPU (integrated graphics processor) shipments, including all client platforms, grew 8% compared to the third quarter and 4% compared to the same reporting period a year earlier.
