According to the results of 2024, revenue from the sale of chips increased to a record $ 627.6 billion

The new 2025 year has advanced far enough in the calendar to give analysts at the SIA association to summarize the revenue from the implementation of semiconductor components around the world over the past year. As it turns out, this revenue at the end of 2024 increased by 19.1 % and reached a record $ 627.6 billion.

The fourth quarter of last year in itself increased revenue by 17.1 % in annual comparison and 3 % sequentially, to $ 170.9 billion. At the same time, December individually demonstrated a reduction in revenue from the sale of semiconductor components by 1.2 % to $ 57 billion Compared to November of the same year. However, in an annual comparison, the growth of December revenue was still observed by 17.1 %.

In the annual comparison among macro -regions in the leaders, both Americas remain with an increase in revenue by 56.3 % to $ 20 billion. According to SIA experts, by 2032, America will increase its own production capacities in this area. Europe reduced the revenue by 8.6 % to $ 4.2 billion, Japan gained 4.1 % to $ 4 billion, even China, under difficult conditions of external exposure in the form of US sanctions and allies, increased December revenue from the implementation of semiconductor components by 2.6 % before $ 15.5 billion. All other countries together with the Asia-Pacific region added 7.6 % to $ 13.3 billion. According to representatives of the SIA Association, this year the revenue from the implementation of semiconductor components will also increase by a two-digit number of percent.

The division into categories of products allows us to understand that the logical components provided $ 212.6 billion annual revenue in the last reporting period, the memory segment of $ 165.1 billion revenue was in second place, but it showed an impressive growth of 78.9 %. This happened not only due to the dynamics of memory prices as a whole, but also due to the rapidly growing demand for expensive HBM chips. The leader in growth rate due to this was the DRAM category, which increased revenue by 82.6 %.
