8BitDo introduced the Retro 108 Mechanical Keyboard with a numeric keypad

8BitDo has introduced a new version of its retro mechanical keyboard, the Retro Mechanical Keyboard. The original tenkeyless version of the device debuted in July last year and was devoid of a number pad. The new 8BitDo Retro 108 Mechanical Keyboard is available for pre-order for $119.99, which is $20 more expensive than the original, but it now has a numeric keypad.

The design of the new 8BitDo Retro 108 Mechanical Keyboard is exactly the same as the original model. It uses the ambience of NES or Famicom game consoles from the 80s. Official deliveries of the new product will begin on December 12.

The new 108-key version of the keyboard features the same Kailh Box White V2 replacement mechanical switches as the tenkeyless version. The number pad that appears also contains a function lock key, a button for calling up a calculator, and a mute key. The keyboard is still only compatible with Windows and Android operating systems.

In the upper left corner of the keyboard there are volume controls, as well as a switch for three operating modes: wired, Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz. In wired mode, the device provides minimal input lag.

In the 8BitDo Retro 108 Mechanical Keyboard package, the manufacturer also included an external module with a pair of large buttons, which is connected to the keyboard itself via a 3.5 mm connector.
