ASRock Rack has announced the TURIN2D48G-2L+ motherboard, designed for building servers on the AMD platform. The new product, made in a proprietary form factor, allows the installation of two processors of the EPYC 9005 (Turin) or EPYC 9004 (Genoa) family in Socket SP5 (LGA 6096) with a TDP of up to 500 W.
A special feature of the board is that it has 48 slots for DDR5-5200 modules (24 slots per CPU). When using RDIMM-3DS products with a capacity of 512 GB, the total amount of RAM in the system can reach 24 TB.
Implemented 12 MCIO connectors (PCIe 5.0 / CXL 2.0 x8), four MCIO connectors (PCIe 5.0 / CXL 2.0 x8 or 8×SATA-3), two MCIO connectors (PCIe 5.0 or 8×SATA-3) and MCIO (PCIe 5.0 x8). There is also a SlimSAS connector (PCIe 3.0 x2) and two M.2 connectors for SSD sizes 22110/2280 with PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA-3 interface. In total, up to 34 SATA-3 ports can be used to connect drives.
The equipment includes an ASPEED AST2600 BMC controller, a dual-port Intel i350 1GbE network adapter and a Realtek RTL8211F controller, which is based on a dedicated network management port. The interface block contains three RJ45 sockets for network cables, two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports and an analog D-Sub connector. Through the connectors on the board, you can use two more USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, a serial port, etc. There are six slots for connecting cooling fans. Operating temperature range – from +10 to +35 °C.
