As it became known, Giant Skull will make a single-player action adventure based on the fantasy franchise Dungeons & Dragons for PC and unnamed consoles. Details will be shared later.

Giant Skull was reportedly working on a AAA game in a similar genre (without mentioning Dungeons & Dragons at the time) when the studio announced it last spring. The project is being built on Unreal Engine 5.

«Our goal is to create a rich new Dungeons & Dragons universe filled with compelling storytelling, heroic combat, and exciting journeys,” said Asmussen.

Wizards of the Coast calls Giant Skull’s Dungeons & Dragons action game “a massive, exciting project” that marks “a defining moment in both companies’ gaming ambitions.”

«“Stig and the team at Giant Skull are exactly the type of exceptionally talented creators we want to work with,” said John Hight, head of video games at Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro.

Wizards of the Coast also continues to work on several games, including Exodus from Archetype Entertainment, a D&D action-adventure from Invoke Studios, and a new project called Skeleton Key.
