Lenovo has announced the tenth generation of its Legion 9i gaming laptop in China. The new product will go on sale in the US this fall. This 18-inch monster is equipped with the most powerful GeForce RTX 5090 graphics accelerator, a 4K display with support for 2D and 3D modes, an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, and also offers up to 192 GB of RAM and up to 8 TB of storage.

The company has not yet disclosed the price of the new product, but given the characteristics of the laptop, it will clearly not be cheap – even without taking into account the 4K screen with 3D mode support, which can be used without special stereoscopic glasses.

A display with support for 2D and 3D modes will be available as an option. Such a display provides a resolution of 3840 × 2400 pixels with a refresh rate of 240 Hz in 2D mode and 1920 × 1200 pixels in 3D mode. Lenovo claims that the new Legion 9i is aimed at game developers, designers, professionals working with 3D graphics, as well as wealthy gamers. The company notes that the 3D mode is supported by 30 games, including Cyberpunk 2077, Black Myth: Wukong, Forza Horizon 5, Genshin Impact and God of War Ragnarök. The laptop’s display also supports 1080p mode with a refresh rate of 440 Hz.

The laptop is equipped with two Thunderbolt 5 ports (USB-C), four USB 3.2 Gen2 (three Type-A and one Type-C), LAN and HDMI 2.1 ports, and an SD memory card reader. The device supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. When using the laptop in 2D mode, a 5-megapixel webcam with f/2.0 optics is available. When switching to 3D mode, a second webcam with f/1.6 optics is activated. The manufacturer has provided the ability to quickly disable both cameras to ensure privacy.

The laptop has a unique look thanks to a nine-layer carbon fiber top cover that Lenovo claims is “lighter yet stronger than aluminum.” This gives the cover a unique visual pattern that varies slightly from one laptop to another.
