As expected, the opening ceremony of the Summer Game Fest 2025 saw a full announcement of the next numbered game in the renowned Resident Evil horror series from Capcom.

The game is called Resident Evil Requiem and is the ninth numbered entry in the franchise. According to Capcom, the project marks the “beginning of a new era of survival horror.”
They promise a story with colorful characters, more engaging gameplay than ever before, and a “breathtaking adventure that will chill you to the core.” The trailer that accompanied the announcement of Resident Evil Requiem is embedded below.
The main role in the video is given to Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of journalist Alyssa Ashcroft from the Resident Evil Outbreak sub-series. According to insider AestheticGamer (aka Dusk Golem), the second protagonist in the game will be Leon Kennedy.
Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27, 2026 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Visitors to the gamescom 2025 exhibition, which will be held from August 20 to 24, will be able to try the game.
