Let’s recall that on April 1, blogger Jamrock Hobo uploaded a nearly 15-minute-long video to YouTube with an internal presentation of Locust City – An Elysium Story, which took place nine months before the game was cancelled (February 2024).

The video has since been taken down following a copyright complaint from ZA/UM, and the developers have confirmed the leak in a new statement. The studio says the situation was the result of a breach of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

ZA/UM explored different concepts after Disco Elysium’s release in 2019, and the video features a game that was scrapped during pre-production. It’s worth noting that the project’s developers have said in the past that it didn’t have pre-production.

«We are proud of the work we have done in the past, as it directly influences our current projects. We remain true to our craft and will not let anything get in the way of our hard work,” ZA/UM said.

Locust City — An Elysium Story was a “single-player co-op game” starring delinquents Kuno and Kuna. The team planned for switching between the characters at any time, unique interactions, and multiple endings.

ZA/UM is currently busy with a spy RPG codenamed Project [C4] and a mobile version of Disco Elysium, which is expected to be released this summer only on Android.
