“Yes, it was worth it”: Pathologic 3’s free Quarantine prologue debuts on Steam with a 92% rating

Developers Ice-Pick Lodge have released a free prologue to their story-driven RPG Pathologic 3. The introduction to the Bachelor’s story, called “Pathologic 3: Quarantine,” is available for download on Steam. It will help players better understand how the core mechanics, storyline, and world with its rules will be structured in the full game.

«Why does a famous bachelor leave a capital laboratory for a backwater town? In this prologue, we will tell the beginning of his story. Examine patients, uncover strange secrets and take the first step towards victory over death,” the description on Steam reads.

The first players who managed to visit “Quarantine” praise it for its improved graphics compared to the second part, well-written dialogue lines and indescribable atmosphere. “Yes, it was worth it,” – with these words the user blen4k began his review. At the time of publication of the material, the prologue had 355 reviews (rating 92%).

Separately, many users note the large number of mechanics associated with the work of a doctor (examination and questioning of patients, distribution of orders and much more). But the lack of the ability to freely move around the city, which was in both the original game and the sequel, became the main reason for dissatisfaction. Steam Deck owners complain about the “complete lack” of gamepad support, but this shortcoming will most likely be eliminated by the release of the main game.

Pathologic 3 is set to release before the end of 2025. It will first be released on PC (Steam), and then on PS5, Xbox Series X and S.
