An ambitious AAA game from the American studio Skeleton Key (owned by Wizards of the Coast), founded in 2022, does not seem destined to see release. The project has reportedly been cancelled.

Enthusiast Timur222 drew attention to a recent publication by Skeleton Key sound engineer Nassim Ait-Kaci on the business social network LinkedIn about leaving the studio and the status of its first game.
«Following the unfortunate cancellation of our project, I am looking for a new position. I have 23 years of experience in AAA game development. My condolences to all employees and former colleagues who have suffered the same misfortune,” Ait-Kasi wrote.
It is worth noting that at the moment, Ait-Kasi’s publication is the only message about the fate of the project. The 80 Level portal also reported that there are no vacancies at Skeleton Key, which is unusual for AAA studios.

Skeleton Key is led by former Dragon Age: The Veilguard executive producer Christian Dailey. The studio last showed signs of life on its first anniversary the summer before last.
Corinne Busche, who has served as development lead for Dragon Age: The Veilguard since February 2022, is rumored to have joined Skeleton Key after leaving BioWare.
If the information about the AAA project Skeleton Key is confirmed, it will not be the first game cancelled by the management of Wizards of the Coast in recent years. In early 2023, the company abandoned the development of five projects at once.
