The recent delay of Rockstar Games’ open-world crime thriller GTA VI has left fans, analysts, and Take-Two shareholders disappointed, but there’s one person in the world who’s not just pleased, but delighted by the delay.

We are talking about British actor Luke Dale, best known to gamers for his role as nobleman Jan Ptacek in the medieval action RPGs Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 from Warhorse Studios.

Commenting on the delay of GTA VI on his microblog, Dale did not hide his joy for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and its prospects for 2025: “We have a chance! Game of the year!”

Dale accompanied his message with the hashtag #KCD2, but for those who still had doubts, the actor posted an explanatory tweet: “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is the best game of 2025.”

The Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 actor was certainly not the only one in the gaming industry who was happy about the GTA VI transfer, but he was one of the few prominent representatives who did so publicly.

GTA VI was considered one of the big favorites for the awards season, so eliminating such a serious competitor will likely hurt the chances of 2025’s most highly rated games like Split Fiction, Blue Prince, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

As a result of the delay, GTA VI will only be released on PS5, Xbox Series X and S on May 26, 2026. Of course, this will now be a barrier to 2026 releases, but that’s a problem for tomorrow.
