«Gamers expect our games to be more polished, innovative and fun, and aren’t shy about letting us know when we’re falling short. It pushes us to work and become better,” Cote explained.

Ubisoft believes Shadows has the potential to set a new standard for excellence within the franchise, but the potential has yet to be realized: “We only have one chance to make a first impression, and the game must exceed those expectations.”

«We also know that being simply among the best in modern realities is no longer enough,” said Cote

Côté added that internal testing and feedback from team members showed “tremendous potential” for Shadows, but the producer decided the project needed more time to meet high fan expectations.
