Warner Bros. confirmed plans for Hogwarts Legacy 2 for the first time

A potential sequel to Warner Bros.’ open-world action RPG Hogwarts Legacy. Games and Avalanche Software, the best-selling game of 2023, received the first official confirmation from the company’s management.

According to Variety, the CFO of the Warner Bros. conglomerate mentioned the continuation of Hogwarts Legacy at a recent Bank of America conference. Discovery Gunnar Wiedenfels.

«Obviously, Hogwarts Legacy is one of our top priorities for the next couple of years. Thus, according to the strategic forecast, the [gaming] business will make a significant contribution to our growth,” said Wiedenfels.

Details of Hogwarts Legacy 2 CFO Warner Bros. Discovery did not share. Apparently, the sequel to the action-RPG is currently in one of the early stages of development.

Earlier, in Avalanche Software’s vacancies, they found a mention of a project suspiciously similar in description to a potential Hogwarts Legacy 2 – an open-world action role-playing game with an “action/magical combat system.”

Hogwarts Legacy was released in February 2023 on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and subsequently reached PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Rumor has it that some kind of director’s cut is being prepared for the game.
