Publisher Gaijin Entertainment (War Thunder, Enlisted) and developers from its Team Matter studio have presented the SCP-inspired tactical PvP shooter Active Matter. The announcement was accompanied by a two-minute trailer.
Active Matter will throw players into a fragmented multiverse. In the role of an operative stuck in a time loop, they will have to get out into quantum-unstable zones for active matter that distorts space and time.
To break the loop, you will have to join an endless hunt, expand the base of your syndicate, improve your equipment and participate in fierce battles for key sources of active matter.
On the way, you will face rivals from other timelines, physics-altering anomalies, and mysterious supernatural creatures. Having obtained active matter, gamers must evacuate to a safe place before the zone ceases to exist.
You can go on PvPvE raids either alone or in a squad with friends. Battles take place in places beyond the boundaries of space and time, including a huge island with dilapidated Soviet complexes and laboratories.
Despite the overtly paranormal nature of the action, Active Matter’s arsenal relies on real technology and tactics, as “war appears to be the only constant in the multiverse.”
Active Matter will be released in 2025 on PC (Steam, Gaijin.net), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. A closed beta will start soon – you can sign up for volunteers on the official website. Judging by the wording from the press release, the game will not be free.
