Ubisoft has put more effort and money into marketing Star Wars Outlaws than any other game.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot discussed the company’s expectations for the upcoming open-world action-adventure Star Wars Outlaws during a recent call with investors.

According to Guillemot, Ubisoft is counting on a strong launch for Star Wars Outlaws, as it is “one of the most anticipated games of the year in the industry” and the community has been “really positive about it.”

It’s worth noting that fan sentiment was dampened by IGN’s recent gameplay reveal, which showed Star Wars Outlaws looking sloppy and suffering from performance and AI issues.

Guillemot named marketing efforts as the third component of Ubisoft’s projected success for Star Wars Outlaws. According to him, the publisher is conducting “the largest advertising campaign” in its history.

In other words, Ubisoft has put more effort and money into marketing Star Wars Outlaws than any of its other games. It’s unclear exactly what amount we’re talking about: marketing budgets for Assassin’s Creed games can reach hundreds of millions of dollars.

Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30 on PC (Ubisoft Connect), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, but owners of the premium editions will have access three days earlier. At the beginning of July, the game went gold, so no postponements (including due to criticism) are expected.
