Ubisoft Announces Rainbow Six Siege X — “The Biggest Transformation” in the Game’s History

Despite almost 10 years having passed since the release of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft is in no hurry to release a sequel to its tactical online shooter, but, as it turns out, it is preparing something no less large-scale for the game.

At the Six Invitational esports tournament, which ended yesterday in Boston, Ubisoft showed a 40-second teaser of Rainbow Six Siege X, “the largest transformation in the history of the game.”

Ubisoft is calling Rainbow Six Siege X the start of a “new era” that will include graphical and audio improvements, as well as deeper tactical gameplay and new ways to play.

According to Ubisoft, the team has been working tirelessly on Rainbow Six Siege X. The upcoming upgrade is designed to “solidify Rainbow Six Siege’s position at the pinnacle of tactical first-person shooters.”

You can see the laying of the foundations for “unique tactical gameplay for the coming years” at the Rainbow Six Siege X presentation, which will take place on March 13 at 21:00 Moscow time on the game’s official Twitch channel.

Meanwhile, Rainbow Six Siege is gearing up for the launch of the first season of its tenth year of support, Operation Prep Phase. Ubisoft has unveiled a cinematic trailer and gameplay footage of a new operator (Raora).

Rainbow Six Siege debuted in December 2015 and is currently available on PC (Steam, Ubisoft Connect, EGS), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, including with a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription. The game’s audience exceeds 85 million people.
