As it became known, the next game of Starward Industries after the retrofuturistic thriller The Invincible is now called Into the Fire. The studio’s managing director Maciej Dobrowolski commented on the change.
«We are confident that the new title will better convey the gameplay and atmosphere of the game, and will also set your hearts on fire even more. The hypnotic, brute force of the volcano will lead you straight to Into the Fire,” Dobrovolsky said.
Players in the role of a brave explorer will have to survive and save lives on a raging volcanic ridge: collect resources, conquer rugged terrain, use tools and select equipment for forays.
The new Into the Fire gameplay trailer shows off the core gameplay loop and the process of saving people from the elements with tactical use of water resources, as well as meeting ancient myths that take the form of fiery creatures.
Commenters were delighted with the glimpse of Into the Fire gameplay and have high hopes for the release. “It’s hard to convey how cool this looks,” AbbreviatedReviews shared.
Into the Fire will be in early access on Steam until the end of 2025, with a full release planned for 2026. It promises the most deadly forces of nature (from fires to earthquakes), intricate puzzles, and difficult moral choices.
