The Witcher 3-level quality, length, and NPCs without story armor: new details about The Blood of Dawnwalker RPG from CDPR alumni

Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, creative director of the Polish studio Rebel Wolves, shared new details about the ambitious vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker in an interview with GamesRadar.

Recall that Rebel Wolves was founded by former The Witcher 3 director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, and his younger brother Mateusz previously held the position of quest director for Cyberpunk 2077 at CD Projekt Red.

Tomaszkiewicz confirmed to GamesRadar that in terms of quality, Rebel Wolves is aiming to be on par with AAA games and The Witcher 3, but it can’t compare in terms of length or volume of content.

«We are a smaller studio, this is our first project and we are definitely aiming for something more modest. Just as powerful in quality, but a little shorter,” Tomashkevich said. The campaign will last 30-40 hours.

Tomashkevich believes that membership in AAA is not determined by length of service

The Blood of Dawnwalker is positioned as a role-playing sandbox, so it will offer the player a wide range of options – not an endless set of them, but, for example, users will be able to kill NPCs (including important ones).

According to Tomashkevich, by doing this, players can cut off access to some quest lines and lead the task to an alternative ending, which, in turn, echoes other gameplay mechanics.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Players will take on the role of half-vampire Cohen, who must save his family in a forgotten corner of the 14th-century Carpathian Mountains in 30 days and nights.
