Rebel Wolves co-owner and head of publishing Tomasz Tinc has clarified the status of the studio and its vampire RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker amid a shift in priorities at Chinese company NetEase.

In pursuit of profits and cost-cutting, NetEase has abandoned international investments, laid off hundreds of employees and cut funding to several game studios, according to Bloomberg.
Game File’s sources added that more than a dozen NetEase studios outside of China could be at risk of closure as a result, including Nagoshi Studio, Grasshopper Manufacture, Quantic Dream and Rebel Wolves.
In a statement on his LinkedIn account, Tink assured that NetEase is only a minority shareholder in Rebel Wolves, while the majority of the studio is owned by its co-owners.
«”Our game development is going smoothly, and we are not experiencing any financial problems. The Blood of Dawnwalker production is fully funded,” Tink reassured worried fans.
Rebel Wolves and The Blood of Dawnwalker are being led by former The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. Bandai Namco is the game’s international publisher.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Players will take on the role of half-vampire Cohen, who must save his family in a forgotten corner of the 14th-century Carpathian Mountains in 30 days and nights.
