In the world of psychological horror Silent Hill 2 there is not much reason to be happy, but the recently released remake of the game from the developers from the Polish studio Bloober Team was able to make the publisher Konami happy.

As Konami reported in a Japanese press release, total shipments and sales of Silent Hill 2 (that’s what the remake is called) in digital distribution services have already exceeded one million copies.
The mentioned value of the updated Silent Hill 2 was achieved on October 11 – that is, just three days after the official release. By the time the press release was published, the figure had probably increased even more.
For comparison: the original Silent Hill 2 in 2001 could not boast of such speed. The cult horror film reached a million copies sold only a month after its release.

Let’s remember that the updated Silent Hill 2 was created from scratch using the Unreal Engine 5 with the involvement of original developers, including artist Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka.
On the eve of the release, the Silent Hill 2 remake was plagued by skepticism from players, but at launch the quality of the project was a pleasant surprise for both fans of the series and ordinary users, as well as for critics.
Silent Hill 2 was released on PC (Steam) and PS5. In the story, the hero arrives in Silent Hill because of a letter from his now deceased wife. A spoiler for the plot twist associated with it was mistakenly included in the opening section of the Italian version of the game.
