The launch of expanded access to the hotly anticipated action film Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 from Saber Interactive did not go well, and the project’s publisher, Focus Entertainment, decided to clarify a number of issues related to the release.

Let us remind you that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launched on Steam with “mixed” reviews. One of the main complaints from users was the need to install the Epic Online Services (EOS) multiplayer client.
According to Focus, Space Marine 2 needs EOS solely to provide cross-platform multiplayer between Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as syncing the friend lists of both stores.
Focus also emphasized that the function of linking Steam and EGS accounts in EOS is strictly optional, “not required to enjoy the game” and does not affect gameplay in any way.

The publisher also apologized for the inconvenience and gave advice on solving the most common problems of the game at the moment:
In the time since the release in extended access, the user review rating for Space Marine 2 on Steam has increased from “mixed” to “mostly positive” (75% positive reviews).
The official release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will take place on September 9 on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The game’s development plan includes adding support for ultra-wide monitors (this will happen before the end of the month).
