Retrofuturistic action platformer Replaced from developers Sad Cat Studios has been delayed more than once, but it looks like the ambitious project is under threat of another release delay.

Let’s recall that Sad Cat Studios last contacted us last summer to move Replaced to 2025. The second half of it, if we believe the Thunderful Group holding company, which includes both publishers of the game (Coatsink and Thunderful).
As TrueAchievements noted, in its recently released Q4 2024 financial report, Thunderful Group indicated that Replaced is now scheduled for 2026.

Replaced’s lead developer, Telephantasm, called the incident an “internal error” in a comment to DTF. During a call with investors, Thunderful management mentioned that the game will still be released in 2025.
According to Telephantasm, Sad Cat Studios has not yet made a decision on a new transfer, but is committed to finishing the game in 2025. In Discord, the developer promised to clarify the release dates by the end of February.

The events of Replaced will unfold in an alternative America of the 1980s. Players in the role of R.E.A.C.H. – an AI locked in a human body – must challenge the corruption and crime of Phenix City, and also find his place in the world.
Replaced is being created for PC (Steam, EGS, GOG, Microsoft Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X, S and Game Pass. In mid-August, the developers showed more than 10 minutes of the game with three different gameplay segments.
