The game is called Dante’s Ring and is an “anti-combat” action adventure with RPG, survival and arcade elements. As part of the Golden Joystick Awards 2024, a one and a half minute teaser trailer debuted.
Players in the role of a brave explorer will have to survive and save people/animals on a raging volcanic ridge. In addition to the elements, the hero will be challenged by human beliefs, social conflicts and his own demons.
According to the developers, Dante’s Ring offers a fresh approach to gameplay that avoids combat scenarios and immerses the player in a mesmerizing world where you will go to the heart of Hell to snatch another life from its grip.
Users will collect resources, conquer rough terrain, use retro tools, complete quests and missions (which may affect the course of the plot) and select equipment for each outing.
They promise the opportunity to uncover the secrets of the Ring of Fire, the deadliest forces of nature (from fires to earthquakes), intricate puzzles, resource management and difficult moral choices.
Dante’s Ring is expected to be released sometime in 2025 in the Steam Early Access version, with a full release planned for 2026. Judging by the description on the Valve service, the game currently only supports English.
