The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has an ancient bug that allows you to complete the game in minutes

Although only a few days have passed since the release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, users have already found a way to reduce the time it takes to complete this massive game to just a few minutes.

Let us remind you that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is a re-release of the classic Oblivion, which is based on Unreal Engine 5. The original Gamebryo engine, in turn, is responsible for the gameplay and logic of the game.

Because of this continuity, many of the original version’s technical features were carefully carried over into the remaster, including a number of bugs, errors, and, as it turns out, loopholes for speedrunners.

The PC Gamer portal noted that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered still has a bug with a door in the temple area of the Imperial City that teleports the player to the very end of the main storyline.

Thanks to this trick, players have learned to complete The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered in less than 10 minutes, the lion’s share of which is spent escaping from the starting, training location.

For example, streamer teufel9000 completed The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered in 8 minutes and 15 seconds (excluding downloads). For comparison: the world record for speedrunning the original Oblivion does not exceed two and a half minutes.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was released on April 22 on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. The remaster has received “very positive” reviews on Steam and has impressed the original game’s developer.
