Despite being available through a Game Pass subscription, the fantasy RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered from Bethesda Game Studios and Virtuos Studios is doing well on the sales front.

As Circana analyst Mat Piscatella noted in Bluesky, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered topped the US video game sales charts (in monetary terms) for the week of April 19-26.
The achieved result allowed the remaster of the 19-year-old role-playing hit to break into the top three best-selling games for the whole of 2025 (also in monetary terms) after just a week on the market.
According to Piscatella, the only games that will sell better in the U.S. than The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered in 2025 are Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
In a separate post, Piscatella emphasized that the sales figures cited for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered do not include Game Pass subscribers: “A subscription is not a sale.”
As it became known earlier, the total audience of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered in the first three days after the release was more than 4 million people. This result takes into account the users of the game in Game Pass.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was released on April 22 on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), PS5, Xbox Series X, S, and Game Pass. The remaster is based on Unreal Engine 5, while the original Gamebryo engine is responsible for gameplay and logic.
