Before leaving for the New Year holidays, developers from the American studio Supergiant Games (Transistor, Pyre) shared plans for the further development of their mythological roguelike action game Hades II.
Let’s remember that Hades II early access started in May. The game has received half a dozen patches over the past months, including its first major update, The Olympic Update, in mid-October.
The developers promised that they wouldn’t have to wait that long (five months) for the second major patch—the release is scheduled for early 2025. The update will feature the final battle of the land route.
In addition, Hades II will receive at least one more major update before leaving Early Access. It is reported that it will expand various aspects of the game, including the story.
At the same time, the true ending will appear only with the release of version 1.0, and there is no release date for it yet – they, according to the developers, will depend on “how our major updates go.”
In the story, players take on the role of Melinoe—the black magic-wielding immortal princess of the Underworld and the sister of Zagreus from Hades—who must challenge the sinister titan of time, Kronos.
Hades II can be purchased on Steam (until January 2) and Epic Games Store (until January 9) for 990 rubles (−10%). On Valve’s service, the game is nominated for a Steam 2024 Award in two categories: “Best Game on Steam Deck” and “Outstanding Visual Style.”
