The popular physics sandbox Garry’s Mod from Gary Newman and Facepunch Studios today, November 29, 2024, not only celebrates its 18th anniversary, but also reaching a new sales peak.

Let’s remember that the last time Facepunch Studios reported on the success of Garry’s Mod was in the fall of 2021 – on the eve of the 15th anniversary, the result of the sandbox was 20 million copies sold.
As it became known, sales of Garry’s Mod have now reached 25 million copies. The 18th anniversary video (attached below) lists 25.4 million, and Newman claims that more than 25.5 million people bought the sandbox.

Garry’s Mod has earned more than 1.1 million “extremely positive” reviews on Steam and the title of the best-selling PC exclusive in history according to the Guinness Book of Records. As part of the autumn sale, the game can be purchased for 450 rubles (−40%).
Newman is currently working on the spiritual successor to Garry’s Mod – the sandbox S&box (read as sandbox) on the Source 2 engine – and intends to surpass his most famous creation in all aspects.
