FromSoftware’s action RPG Dark Souls 3 has co-op, but it’s not seamless even by any stretch of the imagination. Modder Yui (aka LukeYui) has taken on the task of fixing the situation nearly nine years after its release.

Yui’s Seamless Co-op mod aims to make Dark Souls 3’s co-op “more fun” by removing the limitations of the original co-op multiplayer.
«“Play with friends from the tutorial to the very end of the game, with progress synced without resummoning or disconnecting,” reads the description under the video with the debut demonstration of Seamless Co-op for Dark Souls 3.
In the 7-minute gameplay video, Yui and a co-op partner explore Lothric Castle and defeat two bosses – the Dancer of the Boreal Valley at the entrance to the location and the Dragonslayer Armor at the exit.
The mod functions without connecting to FromSoftware servers: you can’t get banned
Yui promises a stable multiplayer session after death, killing a boss, teleporting, etc., optional PvP invasions and difficulty modifiers (enemy health, friendly fire).
According to Yui, Seamless Co-op for Dark Souls 3 has already reached a working version, but the modification is not yet complete: some bugs are still present, and the planned gameplay improvements have not been implemented. The mod cannot be downloaded at this stage.
It’s worth noting that Yui already has experience adding seamless co-op to FromSoftware games. Seamless Co-op has become the most popular Elden Ring mod on Nexus Mods, with over 8.5 million downloads.
