The Age of Bhaarat takes place in an alternate version of Ancient India, which has been devastated by the Rakshasas, the cruel demons of ancient myths.

Players in the role of a mighty Guardian of the Forest will have to protect their homeland from monsters, uncover the dark secrets of the Rakshasa Empire, master traditional and mythical weapons and mysterious forest powers.

The Age of Bhaarat trailer that accompanied the announcement showcases pre-alpha gameplay, cinematic production design, lush landscapes, mythical beasts, and, according to the developers, hints at a complex narrative.

The Age of Bhaarat is positioned as a project that will allow India to enter the global gaming arena. Tara Gaming intends to combine the country’s creative potential with the production capabilities of AAA blockbusters.

In addition to Abboud, Tara Gaming was founded by Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and renowned Indian writer Amish Tripathi, author of a trilogy of novels about Shiva.

The Age of Bhaarat is expected to be released on PC (Steam, EGS) and unnamed consoles. They promise a dynamic combat system using a grappling hook, hero leveling and the ability to play the game in co-op. No release dates are given.
