Tencent will shut down co-op shooter Synced just a year after release – the game’s shutdown date has been revealed

The free-to-play cooperative shooter Synced from Chinese Next Studios, published by Level Infinite (owned by Tencent), will close its doors just a year after release. The company announced the date of the “death” of the game.

Let us remind you that Synced launched on September 8, 2023 and has since received two seasonal updates – the last was Cyber Safari in mid-March, since the release of which the official microblog of the game has remained awkwardly silent.

As the PC Gamer portal noted, silence on the part of the developers was a harbinger of the imminent end: the other day Level Infinite announced that on September 9 at 6:00 Moscow time the Synced servers would be turned off.

As of this date, users will no longer be able to download and play Synced. Since July 9, Level Infinite has disabled the registration of new accounts and microtransactions in the shooter.

The publisher thanked the players for their interest in Synced. The reason for the closure of the project is not stated, but it is not difficult to trace it: at the launch, the peak online shooter was 10 thousand players, and since May the daily figure has not exceeded 100 people.

Synced’s user reviews on Steam are “mixed” (66%), with recent ratings dropping to 39% (“mostly negative”), complaining about long matchmaking times, a lack of audience, and client stability issues.

Synced was eventually released only on PC (Steam), although there were plans for a console release as well. Set in the future after a technological disaster, players must fight for resources against killer cyborgs.
