Take-Two Interactive CEO: Company Will Lose 40% of Sales Without GTA VI on PC

Rockstar Games’ open-world crime thriller GTA VI is still set for fall 2025, but only on consoles. How much does publisher Take-Two Interactive risk losing by ignoring PC at launch?

According to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, the PC share in the case of multi-platform games reaches 40% (and more for some releases), but the company does not consider the decision on GTA VI a missed opportunity.

Sales of the PS5, Xbox Series X and S, on which GTA VI is expected to be released, are falling, while the importance of the PC has grown in recent years. At the same time, Zelnick is confident that the release of the game will trigger an increase in demand for consoles.

«”Historically, the big releases on the market (and we have a lot of them in the works) have sold consoles. I think that’s going to happen this year. Not just because of us, but because of others,” Zelnick told IGN.

When asked by journalists about a potential PC version of GTA VI, Zelnick answered evasively, recalling the (first in the history of the series) multi-platform release of the global strategy Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.

«”As for other projects in our lineup, we don’t always release games on all platforms at once. Rockstar starts with some and then traditionally moves on to others,” Zelnick hinted unequivocally.

Set in the Florida-inspired state of Leonidas, GTA VI will see players take on the role of outlaws Jason and Lucia. They promise “the largest and most believable world” in the history of the series.
