Polish 11 bit studios has released a new trailer for its sci-fi philosophical survival game The Alters. The new video differs from previously released materials by breaking the fourth wall: the main character Jan and his copies spend time playing a game about themselves.

The Yans are sitting on the couch in front of a large screen and vying with each other to give advice to the playing clone, actively gesturing and encouraging him when the “Game Over” sign appears. At some point, what is happening on the screen smoothly flows into the world of the assembled Yans, and nothing good comes of it.
The Alters tells the story of a simple worker, Jan Dolski, who faces incredible difficulties. After an emergency landing on a distant planet, the hero finds himself on a mobile base that can only be controlled by a group of people. The protagonist uses a unique substance called rapidium and creates several alternative versions of himself – alters.
A few weeks ago it became known that The Alters will not be released in early 2025 – the developers needed more time to finalize the project and implement the planned improvements.
The fact that The Alters has been postponed once again did not upset gamers too much, as they left a large number of encouraging comments under the new video. “Developers, please give the development as much time as it needs,” wrote someone named Squishy_yhsiuqS, and many agreed with him.
