As promised, the second major update for the mythological roguelike action game Hades II from the developers at Supergiant Games (Transistor, Pyre) did not take long to arrive after the beginning of 2025.

The major patch that was released is called The Warsong Update and it brought with it the final battle of the land route, the god of war Ares, new enemies, as well as additional activities at the Crossroads (like the ability to sing a duet).

Among other things, the developers re-drew the illustrations in the Ash Altar, added another familiar (a ferret) and more than 2 thousand lines of dialogue, simplified resource collection, expanded the soundtrack, implemented new gifts and improved old ones.

The Warsong Update gameplay trailer, timed to coincide with the release, showed the above-mentioned innovations, and also hinted at the further development of the Hades II story.

The full list of changes is available on the Steam page and includes smaller improvements/bug fixes. For those who aren’t in the mood to read, the authors have prepared a video in which the list is read by the narrator from the game.

Supergiant Games has confirmed that it has already started work on the third major update (coming in a few months) – it will focus on improving bosses, expanding the arsenal and the story.

Hades II was released on May 6, 2024, in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players will take on the role of the princess of the Underworld, Melinoe, to challenge the sinister Titan of Time, Kronos. The release date for version 1.0 has not been revealed.
