Steam Weekly Chart: One of August’s biggest new releases is approaching first place, but Steam Deck isn’t giving up

For the fourth week in a row, the Steam Deck portable PC remains the leader of the Steam chart, but its closest rival has finally changed.

For three weeks in a row, the second place was held by the action role-playing game Elden Ring, but in the period from July 30 to August 6, it was supplanted by the pre-order of Black Myth: Wukong from the Chinese Game Science. One of the main new products in August (released on the 20th) added seven positions at once.

The most successful new product was RTS Stormgate from former Blizzard Entertainment employees from Frost Giant Studios, released in early access. For now, the game is only offered in bundles with paid content packs, and will become shareware on August 13th.

The strategy launched with mixed reviews (59% based on 1K reviews) and only reached 4,854 people online. Early buyers are dissatisfied with the game itself in all aspects – from gameplay and plot to balance and interface (the new product is called imitating StarCraft and other Blizzard hits, but at the same time inferior to them in everything), and technical problems and features (including the requirement for constant Internet access). connections even in a single-player campaign), and business decisions of the creators (additional paid content from day one).

The second best new release reached 50th place. World War II submarine control simulator Uboat from Deep Water Studio and PlayWay S.A. received “very positive” reviews (82% based on 17.2 thousand reviews) and attracted 7201 concurrent users.

The third (and last) among the new releases (52nd line) was another simulator from PlayWay S.A. — car tycoon Car Manufacture from the studio Stereo Games S.A. It has “generally positive” reviews (78% based on 292 reviews) and peak concurrent players of 2,560.
