Steam weekly chart: action movie Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 left no chance Black Myth: Wukong, and Baldur’s Gate 3 returned to the top 5

Action role-playing game Black Myth: Wukong remained at the top of the Steam sales chart for four weeks in a row. From September 3 to September 10, the action movie Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 took first place.

In its extended release release on September 5, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launched with “mixed” reviews, but after the official release they improved to “very positive” (80% based on 33.5 thousand reviews). The negative ones mainly concern optimization problems, bugs, and the installation of the third-party Epic Online Services client.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has become the most popular game in the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer universes in Steam history: on September 10, it reached 225,690 users online. Its predecessor, released in 2011, failed to attract even a tenth of this audience (its record was 15,653 people).

Other events on the chart:

  • The second best new product was the basketball simulator NBA 2K25 – the game reached third place, despite “mixed” reviews (54% based on 2.3 thousand reviews). Most of the negative ratings are due to technical problems. Peak online: 40,856 people;
  • Third among the new releases is Age of Mythology: Retold, which entered the top 10 after the start of extended access last week. The re-release of the classic real-time strategy debuted in sixth place with “very positive” reviews (90% based on 6.3K reviews) and a personal best online of 25,879 users;
  • Also among the new products in the top 100 are the space trucker simulator Star Trucker from Monster and Monster (13th place), the open-world fantasy sandbox Ale & Tale Tavern from Scienart Games (22nd), and the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection from Capcom ( 33rd) and sports action Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions from Unbroken Studios (26th). The latter turned out to be the most massive – at its peak it attracted 6,574 players;

  • The chart for the first time included pre-orders of the open-world racing arcade game Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown (official premiere – September 12, extended access has already begun – albeit unsuccessfully) and the action game God of War Ragnarok (release – September 19).
