Star Wars Eclipse from the creators of Detroit: Become Human has lost its lead screenwriter, but there is still no release on the horizon

The non-linear adventure action game Star Wars Eclipse from the French Quantic Dream (Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, Detroit: Become Human), which has not been shown to the public since its announcement, has lost an important development participant.

As noted by The Gamer portal, Adam Williams, the lead writer for Star Wars Eclipse and Detroit: Become Human, recently announced his decision to leave Quantic Dream and leave a galaxy far, far away behind on his LinkedIn profile.

Williams joined Quantic Dream in 2015 and, after almost 10 years at the French studio, is leaving to start his own, working on “something very innovative, special and still secret.”

Although the new game should not become a “repaint of Detroit: Become Human,” Star Wars Eclipse is being created with an emphasis on the story, so the departure of such an important employee responsible for this aspect will certainly not pass without a trace.

It’s unclear how much the loss of Williams will affect Star Wars Eclipse – the game has been in development for several years, but there’s still no release on the horizon. Insider Tom Henderson claimed that the game would not be released until 2026.

Star Wars Eclipse takes place during the Rise of the Republic—the golden age of the Jedi, hundreds of years before Anakin Skywalker. According to rumors, a new empire and race will appear in the game, and the main character will be an unknown character.

Star Wars Eclipse was announced in December 2021 at The Game Awards and has yet to receive a single new presentation. Last fall, Quantic Dream confirmed that the game was still alive.
