Split Fiction Sets Three World Records and Enters Guinness Book of Records

The co-op adventure Split Fiction from the developers of the Swedish Hazelight Studios (It Takes Two, A Way Out) has already become a real hit among players, but, as it turns out, it has also set three world records.

The Guinness Book of Records recently reported on Split Fiction’s achievements. The Hazelight Studios project has rewritten three records for games with local co-op.

As it turns out, Split Fiction has become the most popular local co-op game on Steam, as well as the best-selling local co-op game in the first 48 hours (1 million copies) and in the week (2 million) after release.

The developers of Split Fiction have already commented on the new achievement of their project in the studio’s official microblog: “Damn, this is incredible! Mom, look! Our game got into the Guinness Book of Records!”

It’s worth noting that in addition to local, Split Fiction also offers online co-op. Thanks to the friend pass system, co-op play only requires one purchased copy for both players.

As noted by representatives of the Guinness Book of Records, the peak online of the Steam version of Split Fiction in the first day reached 197,434 simultaneous players, and the best result of the project on the platform exceeded 259 thousand people.

Split Fiction was released on March 6 on PC (Steam, EGS, EA App), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The game has earned high marks from critics and “extremely positive” reviews on Steam. Hollywood companies have already begun competing for the rights to film the project.
