As expected, the open-world zombie shooter Days Gone from developers Bend Studio will get a remaster. The announcement was made during the February State of Play presentation.

The re-release is called Days Gone Remastered and is scheduled for release on PS5 on April 25 of this year. The remaster will cost $50, while owners of the original game on PS4 will be able to upgrade for $10.

They promise improved graphics (drawing distance, shadows, lighting), 3D sound, support for VRR, PS5 Pro and DualSense controller, two operating modes (quality and performance) and new accessibility settings.

The Days Gone Remastered announcement trailer also shows off new content: the Horde Assault arcade mode, a permadeath mode, a speedrun mode, and improvements to the photo mode. Additional trophies are also announced.

These new features, along with DualSense support and expanded accessibility settings, will also be coming to PC as part of the $10 Broken Road add-on for Days Gone on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The remaster is being created by Bend Studio in collaboration with Climax Studios

Judging by the ratio of likes and dislikes under the trailer (11 thousand to 7 thousand), fans have taken the announcement of Days Gone Remastered ambiguously. In the comments, they demand a sequel and a remake of Bloodborne.

The original Days Gone was released in April 2019 and made its way to PC in May 2020. Despite (at least) 7.3 million copies sold, the game never received a sequel — Sony allegedly rejected the idea of a second part.
