Respawn Entertainment has been on a bad run lately. Following the Star Wars shooter about the Mandalorian bounty hunter, Electronic Arts has cancelled another unannounced game from the studio.

The fate of the project was reported on her page on the business social network LinkedIn by former Respawn Entertainment production coordinator Emily Evans, but the publication is currently unavailable.

«”The unannounced incubator project I’ve been a part of for the past year was cancelled this week. So I’m joining a group of incredibly talented and kind people in the industry who are looking for a new job,” Evans wrote.

Although the cancelled game was never announced, Respawn had been recruiting for its “incubation team” in recent years. The team was looking for people with experience working on multiplayer shooters.

According to Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb, the project was being developed by the same team that worked on the cancelled Star Wars shooter and had no connection to the Titanfall universe.

Grubb also assured that the secret project of the Titanfall duology director Steve Fukuda is still in the prototyping stage. The journalist previously referred to it as a Titanfall game, but did not mention this in the new Game Mess Decides podcast.

So Respawn is busy with the final chapter of the Star Wars Jedi trilogy, patches for Apex Legends, and a project with studio Bit Reactor. “So they haven’t canceled another Titanfall game, but they’re not making one either,” Grubb concluded.
