According to the plot of the latest God of War, the Spartan Kratos left Greece long ago, but he may still return to his homeland as part of an unconfirmed collection of remasters of the first parts of the series.

Recall that rumors about a re-release of the Greek saga God of War appeared last fall and flared up with renewed vigor on the eve of the February State of Play broadcast, but have not yet been confirmed.
Meanwhile, the franchise is approaching its 20th anniversary – the original God of War debuted on March 22, 2005 on the PS2. It looks like Sony and the developers at Santa Monica Studio won’t leave fans empty-handed for the anniversary.

Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb stated on his microblog that the authors of rumors about God of War remasters were “a little hasty,” and the corresponding announcements will be made closer to the anniversary.
Sony has not announced any official events for the 20th anniversary of God of War, but Nucleus is organizing an exhibition in the US dedicated to the anniversary (it will take place from March 15 to 23 in Alhambra). Grubb drew attention to its announcement.
Kratos’ Greek saga includes the first three numbered God of War games and the prequel Ascension, as well as two portable games from the now-defunct Ready at Dawn, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta.
Meanwhile, according to unconfirmed information from insider Tom Henderson, Santa Monica Studio is working on the next God of War, which will allegedly send players to Greece again and show a younger Kratos.
