The team of enthusiasts who brought the legendary turn-based strategy Heroes of Might and Magic III to the browser have presented their next project – a web version of the classic multiplayer shooter Half-Life: Deathmatch.

Let us recall that Half-Life: Deathmatch is a multiplayer component of the first Half-Life from 1998, later released separately by Valve, but already on the Source engine (the original game was based on GoldSrc).

The browser port of Half-Life: Deathmatch is made on the Xash3d engine, which is licensed under the GNU GPL v3 and allows enthusiasts to copy, distribute and modify the software.

The web version of Half-Life: Deathmatch offers pure action “without registration, SMS, advertising and other uncool crap”, but with the spirit of the original game preserved and “respect for the legacy of the series”.

The creators of the browser version of Half-Life: Deathmatch promise support for up to 32 players, more than 10 servers for the game, famous maps like Crossfire, Stalkyard and Bounce, an achievement system and a leaderboard.

Browser Half-Life: Deathmatch is available at this link. Unlike Heroes, the new port does not require original resources to work. There is compatibility with browsers on Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS and Android.

The project is the work of Dos.Zone creator Alexander Guryanov (caiiiycuk), blogger Nikita Aksyonov (Carter54), Sergey Vasiliev and Evgeny Okhmanyuk. In the future, the team will improve mobile controls, add more maps and skins.
