PlayStation logo appears on official Starfield mod site — insider claims Bethesda is working on PS5 game

Bethesda Game Studios’ space RPG Starfield is still only available on PC and Xbox, but a new leak suggests that this exclusivity won’t last long.

As blogger and modder 510deshawn noted, the now-deleted WIP mod page, Ship Decals, in the Creations section of Bethesda’s official website contained a list of target platforms, among which was the PlayStation logo.

The developer of WIP – Ship Decals was listed as ValleysEdge (he has no other creations), and the mod itself was uploaded on March 12 and was the only one with the PlayStation logo in the description.

Users took the leak as a clear indication of an upcoming release of Starfield outside of its current target platforms – specifically the PlayStation 5, which the game was planned for before becoming an Xbox console exclusive.

In a discussion on the ResetEra forum, insider Nate the Hate (aka NateDrake) assured that the release of Starfield on PS5 is only a matter of time. In the past, the game’s release on Sony’s console was predicted by the Spanish portal Vandal.

Bethesda previously assured that the Starfield team is hard at work on future updates and has “a lot of exciting things coming to the game this year.” It’s possible that one of the surprises will be a PS5 release.

Starfield debuted in September 2023 on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X, S, and Game Pass. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer recently said he couldn’t guarantee the game would be exclusive in the future.
