Patch 2.21 added support for DLSS 4 to Cyberpunk 2077, but so far without multi-frame generation on the GeForce RTX 50 series

Cyberpunk 2077 has not had a separate support team since last spring, but CD Projekt Red’s action role-playing game continues to receive updates. Today, January 23, patch 2.21 was released for the game.

The main change in the new patch is support for DLSS 4 scaling and Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards for the PC version, although the technology for creating several additional frames will only be available from January 30.

A new conversion model for DLSS ray reconstruction, DLSS super-resolution and DLAA can now be tested on all GeForce RTX, which provides more stable and high-quality images, lighting and detail.

Blogger MxBenchmarkPC has already tested the update (see video below). In DLSS 4 there is indeed an improvement in the “picture”, but beauty requires sacrifice: 3-5% of performance in the case of DLSS super resolution.

Otherwise, update 2.21 mostly includes fixes for the redesigned photo mode in version 2.2, car styling changes, character creation, and screenshots and modes on Xbox consoles.

In addition, several scenes were corrected in which there were two Johnnys in the passenger seat at once. The full list of fixes in 2.21 can be found on the official Cyberpunk 2077 website.

Update 2.21 has been released for Cyberpunk 2077 on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The developers have no plans to improve the game for PS5 Pro at this stage.
