As a reminder, My First Gran Turismo is a free-to-play version of Gran Turismo 7. The project was announced in September and was expected to release during the holiday period at the end of 2024.
As it became known, My First Gran Turismo will be released on PS4 and PS5 tomorrow, December 6th. The announcement was accompanied by a two-minute gameplay trailer (the video is attached below).
According to Polyphony Digital President and Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, My First Gran Turismo is “a special free-to-play invitation to immerse yourself in the exciting world of motorsports.”
«It’s not just a game; this is the beginning of a personal driving journey. We tried to make the experience intuitive so that everyone can get behind the wheel and learn the basics like turning, braking and accelerating,” explained Yamauchi.
My First Gran Turismo includes three racing events, three time trials, three music rallies, a selection of licensed challenges, 18 cars and PS VR2 support (PS5 only).
PlayStation probably hopes that those who have tried the shareware experience will sooner or later purchase a full-fledged game in the series. For example, Gran Turismo 7, which is also available on PS4 and PS5, but for $60 – $70.
