Let us recall that in the first three days after the official release, Monster Hunter Wilds sold over 8 million copies, which turned out to be the best result in the history of Capcom.

As it became known, since then the rate of sales of the product has noticeably decreased, however, by the end of the month since its release, the total sales of Monster Hunter Wilds on all target platforms exceeded 10 million copies.

For comparison, Capcom’s best-selling game, Monster Hunter: World (21.3 million copies as of December 31, 2024), reached 7.5 million copies over the comparable (month and one week) period.

Capcom credits Monster Hunter Wilds’ success to its simultaneous release on PC and consoles, the integration of cross-play (a first for the series), and “multiple new elements” to the gameplay.

Monster Hunter Wilds has been released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Journalists were delighted with the project (88-90% on Metacritic), and reviews on Steam are still “mixed”. The game’s peak online on the platform reached 1.384 million people.

The first content update for Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on April 4, bringing with it the Mizutsune Leviathan, a new peaceful location, and more. The second patch is planned for the summer.
