Game File portal journalist Stephen Totilo, citing his sources, reported that unusual changes have taken place in the management of two major gaming exclusives Sony and Microsoft.

According to two Totilo tipsters, Brian Horton, the creative director of the superhero action film Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games, left the team in the summer of 2024 due to creative decisions made for the game.
A representative from Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed to Totilo that Marcus Smith has become the new creative director of Marvel’s Wolverine, and left no comment on the reasons for Horton’s departure.
In addition, Mike Daly replaced Cameron Christian, who had changed his role at the studio, as head of development for the project. Daley and Smith’s credits include Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

As for Horton, he took a job as a creative director at Xbox-owned studio The Initiative, which is currently busy rebooting the sci-fi shooter series Perfect Dark.
The appointment was confirmed by a Microsoft Gaming representative. Horton will “bring a wealth of experience to the upcoming reboot of the classic secret agent series,” he said.
Marvel’s Wolverine is in development for PS5 (although a leak indicated plans for a PC version), and Perfect Dark is being created for PC, Xbox Series X and S. Neither game has an official release date.
