Late last month, Microsoft had to pause the distribution of the Windows 11 24H2 update to computers with Ubisoft games installed because it was causing system crashes. It appears that Microsoft and Ubisoft have made progress in solving this problem, but only to a limited extent. The software giant has resumed distributing updates, but not yet to all users.

According to reports, Ubisoft has released patches for some of its games. In particular, owners of computers with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora or Star Wars Outlaws installed can now upgrade to Windows 11 24H2, but first they need to update these games.
«As announced on Microsoft Learn, Ubisoft has released patches for some of its games. If you had problems with Windows while playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora or Star Wars Outlaws, you can now get Windows 11 24H2. All you have to do is update your games,” Microsoft said in a statement.
The patches released by Ubisoft resolve glitches in the mentioned games, but it is noted that some performance issues may occur after installation. For computers with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Origins and Odyssey installed, a solution to the problem has not yet been found. This means that Windows 11 24H2 will still not install on devices where one of the mentioned games is found. Even after removing all problematic games from your computer, it will take at least 48 hours before you can download Windows 11 24H2.
