Journalists from Video Games Chronicle, PC Gamer, GameSpot and other publications managed to play the first hour and a half of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The starting mission “Virtue” was available for completion.
Reviewers agreed that the remake looks great – Unreal Engine 5 draws even small details like pores on the skin of the characters (you can see them in the intro videos using magnification).
The trial version had two operating modes – 30 fps at dynamic 4K and 60 fps at 1080p
In terms of gameplay, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is not far removed from the original game, but there are some changes:
There are no downloads as such in the remake, but to preserve the original dynamics, transitions between locations will be separated by darkening the screen. Some reviewers expressed the opinion that a seamless world would benefit the game.
The main impression of journalists after their acquaintance with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was that the remake extremely meticulously recreates the original source. Konami explains this by saying they didn’t want to spoil Hideo Kojima’s vision.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is being created for PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The remake does not yet have a release date, but Konami promises to fix this by the end of this year.
