In recent years, all the talk around Larian Studios has been about Baldur’s Gate 3, however, it seems that the Belgian studio has not forgotten about its previous project – Divinity: Original Sin 2.

As noted by the microblog Gematsu, on November 6, the European rating commission PEGI (Pan European Game Information) classified Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition (improved edition of the game) for new target platforms.

According to the leak, in addition to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, Larian Studios plans to release Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition on current generation consoles, that is, PS5, Xbox Series X and S.

Currently, Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition runs on PS5, Xbox Series X and S with backwards compatibility: 4K (checkerboard rendering) at 30 fps on PS4 Pro and full 4K at 30 fps on Xbox One X.

The PEGI website indicates November 6 (that is, today) as the release date for Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, but the day is already coming to an end, and the announcement has not yet been made.

Compared to the original release, the Definitive Edition offers a partially reworked scenario, additional quests, an extended epilogue and multiple improvements (for example, a common inventory for all heroes).

Divinity: Original Sin 2 was released in September 2017 on PC. In August 2018, the game received a Definitive Edition and debuted on PS4 and Xbox One, and in September 2019 it came to Switch. The RPG rating on Metacritic is 92−98%.
